Photo Walk Fridays: Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland, Ohio
I loved everything about our short trip to Cleveland for an event celebrating an exhibit of photographs from Chris's book at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Our hotel was in the incredible Arcade building and I felt like I had gone back in time. These first eight pictures are from there. It was gorgeous. Right outside the building was East 4th Street which is filled with outdoor patios and Xmas lights strung up everywhere. It was lunchtime and full of people and energy. The downtown has an edge to it, lots of fantastic old buildings with the space to see them and appreciate them. Tower City Center, which used to house the Higbee Department Store and was built as Cleveland Union Train Terminal, is incredible as well. Then there is the Rock Hall itself. The place just oozes cool. Every single person we met was awesome and generous and full of energy and enthusiasm for what they did. Loved it. Check out the end of the post for links to the places we visited.

WOW! That hotel is awesome. I want to go there.
It was so neat! I felt like I was in Paris or something, with the hotel rooms up above looking down onto the Arcade with shops and places to eat. Each hotel room, with those great doors and windows used to be dentist and doctor's offices. I WISH I could travel back in time and see what it was like when it was all professional offices. I imagine there was a private eye too. That would be cool. I love this old shot of the interior during a big banquette.
